BOZEMAN, Mont. (AP) ? Montana State offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach Brian Wright has accepted the same position at Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton, Fla.
Wright told the Bozeman Daily Chronicle (http://bit.ly/stIu9Z ) he was hired by new head coach Carl Pelini, who is taking over a team that posted a 1-11 record last season.
Wright said Saturday it was an opportunity to coach at the Football Bowl Subdivision level at a school where you can recruit great student athletes because of the academic programs and the location.
MSU coach Rob Ash says the move is a good opportunity for Wright, who will be missed by the Bobcats.
In two seasons, Wright coached an offense that gained 11,014 yards and scored 97 touchdowns, including 5,962 yards passing and 46 touchdowns by quarterback Denarius McGhee.
Ash says he doesn't have a timetable for replacing Wright.
